We wish to appeal to the EU to refrain from proscribing the LTTE in Europe. With the Sri Lanka armed forces and the paramilitaries already on a rampage with massacres of Tamil civilians, involuntary disappearances and extrajudicial killings with impunity exceeding 190 in number within six weeks, we are making this urgent appeal to the International Community at large and the EU in particular, to warn the terrorist state of Sri Lanka to refrain from atrocities perpetrated against the Tamil civilians and prevail on President Rajapakse to remove barriers for the resumption of Peace Talks. There is also a practice of assaulting school going children as well ordinary people brutally when they happen to pass their camps, which is on their way. People fear if this goes our Jaffna would again be an area of mass disappearances .The limit and purpose of these human rights violations are heavy The SLMM and Human Rights Commission are full with reports from civilians, regarding the atrocities of the Sri Lankan army forces, besides complaints from Civil organizations, regarding ceasefire violations of Sri Lankan government forces.
